UPDATED FOR 2019-2020 SCHOOL YEAR
Flexible Spending Account Program - Open Enrollment
The maximum contribution for medical expenses will be $2,000 per year. Also, there will be a $500 carry-over from one plan year to the next. These funds can be used at any time during the entire subsequent plan year. It is open enrollment time for the Flexible Spending Account program. The deadline to sign up is Wednesday, June 5th. If you already have an FSA, you will still need to complete a new application for the upcoming year. The application and list of eligible expenses is attached.
For those of you not familiar with the FSA concept, it is a voluntary employee benefit plan which allows employees to set aside a pre-determined amount of money each year on a pre-tax basis to pay for allowable medical expenses not covered by a health plan.
The FSA can also be used for dependent care expenses with a maximum yearly contribution of $5,000.
There are no fees to participants.
If you were a participant this year, please continue to use the same debit card for the upcoming year. TASC, the plan administrator, will automatically re-load your card for your elected amount.
Completed applications should be returned to me at the Central Office. E-mailed or scanned forms are also acceptable. Please feel free to contact me should you have any questions.
Health Insurance Open Enrollment
Please note that July 1, 2019, is the open enrollment date for those who would like to sign up for health insurance. This is also the time to make any changes to your existing coverage such as switching from a PPO to an HMO, adding a dependent, etc. You will find the FY20 rates attached.
The deadline for enrollment is Wednesday, June 5th.
If you would like to enroll or make any changes to your health plan, please call or email me and I will inform you on how to proceed
**NEW DENTAL PROVIDER CHANGE**
We are pleased to inform you that the District will be changing to The Guardian for our dental insurance.
As a result of a bidding process, The Guardian came in with the most attractive rates and benefit plan design.
There will be no disruption of your services whether you’re in or out of network. The Guardian supports one of the largest PPO networks in the state of MA and nationally. The plan will also cover non-participating dentists. The network averages a 38% discount on services in network.
The Guardian has no waiting periods, which means you have benefits on day one. Additionally, all pre-existing conditions are covered, and you will get a new calendar year maximum starting 7/1/19 and it will re-set on 1/1/20.
We will be automatically transferring members who are currently enrolled in the Blue Cross Blue Shield plan to The Guardian. You do not need to complete a new enrollment form! If you would like to opt out of your current dental coverage, please send me an email as soon as possible.
You will receive identification cards from The Guardian approximately the middle of June. Please do not use your new dental plan until 7/1/19. All work in progress will be covered under The Guardian if it overlaps the 7/1/19 transfer date.
If you do not currently have dental coverage and wish to enroll in the new plan, please complete the attached enrollment form and send it to me via scan or interoffice mail. All new enrollments must be received by Wednesday, June 5th!!!
I have also attached the rate sheet and plan information to this email.
Please don’t hesitate to contact me with any additional questions.
