Picture retake day will take place tomorrow. This will be for any student that was absent back in September or for those students who paid for a portrait package and would like the picture retaken.

The Nipmuc Drama Guild presents Puffs this weekend.
Puffs, or: Seven Increasingly Eventful Years at a Certain School of Magic and Magic is a comedic play that retells the story of a famous boy wizard from the perspective of the often-overlooked "Puffs," a group of well-meaning misfits at a magical school. The play follows Wayne Hopkins and his fellow Puff classmates as they navigate school, spells, and the chaos surrounding the Chosen One—trying their best just to survive. With heart and humor, Puffs celebrates friendship, identity, and what it means to be a hero in your own story. We hope you will join us next weekend for one of the three shows listed on the below flyer. Tickets will be sold at the door and are $15 for adults and $10 for students and seniors (65+).

The Nipmuc Active Minds Chapter promoting mental health awareness and support is hosting a spirit week next week. Be sure to wear green on Monday and look for ways to get involved next week! #nipmucpride
This year's "Rockin' for a Reason" concert will take place on Saturday, October 18 at 3pm in the Nipmuc Auditorium. Six local high school bands will battle it out onstage to try and win studio recording time, with the winner voted by the audience live during the show. There will also be local food trucks and merchandise for sale. All proceeds will be donated to the Ty Louis Campbell Foundation, funding research into safer treatments for pediatric cancer. On Wednesday last week we hosted over 100 international fellows from the National Defense University (NDU) in Washington, DC. This marks the tenth time that this group of future diplomats from across the globe visited Nipmuc to get a taste of American education and to have the chance to meet with and shadow American teenagers during the school day.
The National Defense University is an extension of the National War College. Students who attend this Master's degree program have been sent by their home countries in recognition of their potential for future diplomatic roles. Graduates of the NDU include many top diplomats and elected officials from nations across the globe. Over the course of recent years, students have built meaningful connections with this group of global leaders in an exciting exchange of cultures and this year was no different. It was a wonderful day filled with curiosity and gratitude at the end of the day for having the experience.

Last week we welcomed 21 students and 2 chaperones from La Divina Pastora in León, Spain. This is now the fifth year that we have partnered with this school and we wanted to thank our 15 host families for welcoming these students again this year. They will be with us until the end of the month shadowing students, exploring New England and learning about education here in the states. A special thank you to Sra. Soto for organizing this again this year as well.
