It is an exciting week at Nipmuc this week. Today is the Science & Engineering Research Symposium. Congratulations to all of our students participating in today's event for their hard work and for our wonderful teachers that guided and helped our students explore and best explain their research. All of your hard work certainly showed in the presentations. Thank you to the community partners, parents and families that have been stopping by this morning to learn from our talented students. #nipmucpride

The financial literacy fair is underway for our sophomore class. Students are learning about things such as interest rates, risk-benefit analysis, and fluency in “lingo” that relates to financial literacy (i.e. credit, debt, investment, etc.), and more. We want to thank all of our community partners for taking time out of their days to help teach the students through these interactive activities. #nipmucpride

Congratulations to Senior Kylie Bodzinski and the Nipmuc Active Minds Chapter in Collaboration with KyleCares Foundation for being on the Wake Up Call - Channel 5 WCVB Boston. This non-profit organization helps high schools in New England support students' mental health by connecting, facilitating, and funding throughout the school community. Congratulations Kylie for your dedication and continuing to lend your voice to this very important cause.

The tradition of FAST lives on at Nipmuc. Here are a few more pictures from last week's Faculty and Students Together Event. #nipmucpride

Drum Roll.....the teacher with the most feathers wearing the turkey costume this year is Sra. Soto!

The stage is set - Let the FAST festivities begin!!! What teacher will be wearing the turkey costume this year at the pep rally? Stay tuned............

Thank you to Ms. Swenson and the Nipmuc Student Council for all of their hard work planning and preparing for our traditional FAST event tomorrow (Faculty and Students Together). Members of each class are encouraged to dress up with their class colors as they participate in a day of inspiration and fun! FAST is an event that begins with a motivational speaker followed by class competitions and will end with the pep rally. Who will be the faculty member that wears the turkey costume this year at the pep rally? We will all find out tomorrow. Tomorrow is also an early dismissal day at 10:45am and no school Thursday or Friday for Thanksgiving recess. #nipmucpride

Tonight is the Winter Sports Informational Meeting which will be held at 6:30pm in the Nipmuc auditorium. The meeting will include a guest speaker from Positive Coaches Alliance, a non-profit organization who works to grow the capacities of coaches, parents, and athletes. This is the first of three speaker series, including sessions for athletes and coaches. We are asking that all winter athletes bring at least one parent/caregiver to the event. See you tonight.

Congratulations to Mr. Gorman and the engineering students that recently had an amazing experience at the inaugural Maine Space Conference in Portland, ME. During the "Students Take the Stage" session, several students shared how the engineering course had shaped their futures. The students also made special presentations to NASA's Associate Administrator Michael Kincaid, who provided career advice and was impressed with their work. MaxIQ.Space took the group to the Southworth Planetarium for a show and Mr. Gorman presented integrating space STEM into the classroom. Thank you to sponsors MaxIQ.Space and ClearPlan, Inc. for making this inspirational experience possible! #nipmucpride

A reminder that there is no school tomorrow in observance of Veterans Day.

Over the weekend, The Drama Guild performed an adaptation of the beloved book "Tuck Everlasting". This poignant story was beautifully performed by the talented cast and crew of the Nipmuc Drama Guild. This show marks the end of the Drama Direction of Ms. Tam Johnson and welcomes the new Directorship of Mr. Matt Fear. Ms. Johnson would like to thank her talented Cast and Crew and especially thank the numerous parent volunteers who really make the backbone and support of the Drama Guild. She will now enjoy spending more time being "grammy." Thank you Ms. Johnson for all that you have done for Nipmuc and the Drama Guild!!!

Just a reminder that tomorrow is the retake day for school pictures. Students that were absent on picture day should plan on taking their photo tomorrow in order to be issued a student ID. Also, students that didn't have their picture taken and want to order a package can either use the original order form that was sent home in the mail or there are order forms available in the main office. If your student is having their portrait retaken, please return the original package of pictures to the photographer tomorrow. No order form is necessary and a new order will be processed for that student.
Please note that retakes are only offered for students who paid for a portrait package or who were absent on the original picture day. If you have any questions please call O'Connor Studios at 978-640-6250.
