Good morning--Thanks to the hard work of many, all of our schools are open today, Tuesday, December 19th, in the Mendon-Upton Regional School District. There are still some roads closed in both towns, so we anticipate impact on some of the bus route times.
Please be advised you will not be able to access the School Committee meeting this evening through Zoom due to technical issues.
I hope this finds you and your family safe as I know many are still without power. Currently, power has not yet been restored to Miscoe Hill Middle School. We will send an update by 6:15am tomorrow morning to let you know regarding the status of school.
Due to additional school power outages and trees blocking roads, we will need to close Memorial, Clough, and Miscoe Hill Middle School today. Buses will be returning students home that were just picked up for Memorial and Clough. The situation as rapidly changed in the last 30 minutes.
We will be in touch regarding Nipmuc's situation.
Due to the high wind conditions, downed trees are blocking Mendon Street and the power is out at Miscoe Hill Middle School. National Grid has been contacted and we are waiting on a restoration time. Therefore, we will have a two hour delay for Miscoe Hill Middle School only. All other schools have a normal schedule.
Please note: Bus routes have been impacted for all schools due to downed trees in multiple areas of both towns.
Congratulations to the Nipmuc seniors who qualified for the John and Abigail Adams Scholarship based on their performance on the MCAS testing. This scholarship is good for up to 4 years upon their acceptance to a participating Massachusetts public institution of higher education.
It will be a fun night when Mendon-Upton Regional Schools show up at the Worcester Railers game with our band, chorus, and students.

Nipmuc Drama Guild is hosting Tuck Everlasting this coming weekend.
Dr. Cohen will be hosting community coffee chats this coming month.

Nominations are now open for this year's MURSD School Committee Golden Apple Awards. All nominations are due no later than May 19th, 2023.
The Mendon-Upton Regional School District will be closed on Tuesday, March 14, 2023 due to the expected storm.
Due to expected winter storm, there will be no school tomorrow, February 28th, in the Mendon-Upton Regional School District.
Please join us for our Strategic Planning Focus Groups taking place today at 5pm parents/guardians/families or this Thursday at 7pm for all members of the community. The focus groups will be held at Nipmuc Regional High School in the Professional Development Center on the 3rd floor. We would love to hear your thoughts and feedback on the future planning for our district.
